 Why Baptism?

“And this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also — not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a clear conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ.”

1 PETER 3:21 (NIV)

What is baptism?

Baptism holds a significant role in expressing obedience and making a public declaration of one's faith. In following the example of Jesus, who was also baptized during His time on Earth, Christians partake in this symbolic act. Baptism involves immersion in water, symbolizing identification with the death and burial of Jesus, and rising from the water to symbolize His resurrection. This practice signifies three key aspects: publicly professing your commitment to follow Jesus Christ, embarking on a transformative journey in Christ, and becoming part of a new spiritual family.

How do we baptize?

At CRCF Church, we embrace the practice of immersion baptism, aligning with the scriptural example set by Jesus. While various denominations advocate for infant baptism, our interpretation of Scripture emphasizes that baptism is an act of obedience rooted in a deliberate decision to follow Christ. As a result, we perform baptism exclusively for individuals who have personally chosen to repent of their sins and commit to following Jesus.

We do not practice infant baptism. See more information about Child Dedication below.

Should I be baptized?

Yes! If you’ve accepted Jesus Christ as your personal saviour, there is no better time than now to get baptized. At CRCF Church, we hold a deep appreciation for the significance of water baptism in the life of every believer. This practice stands as a crucial milestone in the journey of every Christian, offering a moment that can be shared and witnessed by friends and loved ones. A typical water baptism ceremony at CRCF is a celebratory occasion where individuals unite to rejoice in the transformative work that God has accomplished in their lives.

Child Dedications

The purpose of child dedication is to publicly proclaim that the parents desire to uphold God’s Word in the home and their responsibility as parents is to be in agreement with God’s Word. At the child dedication the parents are exhorted to “train up their child in the way they should go” (Proverbs 22:6). The prayer of blessing prayed over the child and parents is to provide a spiritual covering to maintain and promote the family unit as God planned it to be.

Our Child Dedication services happen quarterly. If you are interested in dedicating your child, please complete the interest form below.
